Business Migration

The Business Migration Program encourages successful business people to settle permanently in Australia and develop new or existing businesses. These visas have a higher financial requirement than many other visa options.

Business owners, senior executives and investors can apply for a visa under the Business Skills category.

The current Business Skills regime has a two-stage process.

  • Business migrants are granted a Business Skills (Provisional) visa for four years (a temporary visa); and
  • after establishing the required level of business or maintaining their eligible investment, they are eligible to make an application for a Business Skills (Residence) visa (a permanent visa).

A direct permanent residence category is available for high-calibre business migrants sponsored by State/Territory governments. This is known as the Business Talent visa.

A. Permanent Visa sub classes
Business Talent (Migrant) Visa

B. Provisional (Temporary) Visa sub classes
The below Provisional Visa categories, which last for four years can be converted subject to successful performance in Australia, to Permanent Residency Visas:

  • State/Territory Sponsored Business Owner (Provisional) Category;
  • State/Territory Sponsored Senior Executive (Provisional) Category;
  • Business Owner (Provisional) Category;
  • State/Territory Sponsored Investor (Provisional) Category.

Most of the visas require sponsorship by a State or Territory Government. This can become complicated. My Immigration Manager is able to assist you with all processes required as part of the application package to ensure the correct visa application is made.
